I often will update availability for days I want to have numerous sessions i.e. offering an entire day of Christmas minis, or during busy season I try to offer as many time slots as I can, but most sessions are booked by request only. It helps me ensure I keep clients spaced out enough so that everyone gets the quickest turnaround time possible for their photos (I try to be quite speedy compared to other photographers!). I do not charge travel fees for weddings anywhere in Michigan!

Aside from weddings, I do travel within 50 miles of Traverse City, Michigan for free. Anything outside of that is an extra fee to cover travel costs, but I'm a travel guru and can usually make it happen very reasonably priced. I'm available worldwide and won't say no to an adventure!

My main cameras for sessions and weddings are all shot on Sony cameras with some of the best lenses money can buy. I have two that are AMAZING, including the newest A7RVi which, I don't see another camera outperforming within the next decade. I also have a Fujifilm simulation camera (a digital camera that produces film-like photos) and my vintage Canon film camera from 1976 if you want true 35mm film photos (available as an add on service; one roll ~20-30 images delivered as digital scans).

I used to view film simulation as a gimmick, an easy way out for photographers not to learn true film. In reality, both have pros and cons, both can capture beautiful photos that provoke emotion, and I'm here to give you the basic idea so you can pick which is right for you!

Real film captures light in a unique way and undergoes chemical baths to 'develop' your negatives. Film simulation is a digital camera that uses sensors to create convincing images similar to film.

True film feels more authentic, but it takes time to develop at a camera shop, is very limiting for light situations (one roll of film allows for one certain light condition ie. photographers can't add/decrease light like we can digitally), and to not waste any of your film roll, I'll likely only take one photo to capture the moment as there is no ability to delete anything.

Film simulation may seem less authentic, but I can take 50 photos of the same moment quickly to pick the best ones to deliver, I can change the light/settings on the camera to always capture reliably great photos regardless of the weather/room/etc., the photos don't need developed and are available instantly to edit, and look very similar to true film.

So which one is better? That's your call. Honestly, I love both. There is something nostalgic about true film to me that the digital world can never replace; however, film simulation allows better control and predictability for very similar results. I offer both because both have their time and place to shine!

My empowerment sessions are similar to a boudoir session, but they're so much more than that. You can wear lingerie, a white t-shirt (wet shower photos, anyone?), or your birthday suit - whatever YOU feel comfortable and sexy in. The whole point is for me to capture you just as you are - beautiful, strong, and powerful. These are great to give as a gift to your partner or just to celebrate yourself in whatever season of life you're in. I'm a firm believer that our bodies are beyond amazing and deserve to be admired. You must be at least 18 years old to book an empowerment session.

After booking you receive a confirmation email, a contract, and an invoice. The contract and invoice are due anytime as long as they are completed prior to 30 days before your date.

Also around 30 days out, I will send you a required form to fill out with the names/groups you want photos with following the ceremony so that we can run this as smoothly as possible! This, along with a finalized copy of your timeline, need to be returned to me one week prior to your wedding.

Proposals are so fun! I've planned several now, and I'm happy to either let you plan and just tell me where to be and when, or I can offer suggestions and help you plan as much or as little as you want. I'm happy to prep set up/take down as well if you want certain things such as flowers, candles, champagne, etc. Thankfully, I have a 100% success rate for it being a surprise and for them saying yes!

All of my wedding packages require a $500 nonrefundable deposit to secure your date. After booking, you will receive an invoice for the rest, which you can pay any time at your own convenience up to 1 month before the wedding. Late payments will not be accepted, your spot will not be held, and your deposit will be forfeited.

My turnaround times for wedding albums is 4-8 weeks! I purposely avoid overbooking weddings to allow a reasonable time to get my photos back to clients.

My policy is that you can cancel your session up to 7 days in advance and receive a full refund, no questions asked (with the exception of Wedding deposits which are nonrefundable and $150 of Empowerment Sessions if indoor space was rented). Anything within 7 days of the scheduled date is a 50% refund, and cancellations within 12 hours are nonrefundable as it doesn't allow me time to schedule another client in place of yours.

Cloudy skies or light rain are great! Thunderstorms/severe cold are not. If we can get good pictures, we will absolutely do our shoot! However, if we unfortunately are not able to make it happen safely for you, me, and my camera, you have your choice of a full refund or a reschedule. I do have rain gear for myself and my camera as well as a cute little clear umbrella if you choose to get dreamy rain photos as long as there's no thunder/lightning.

Yes. If you book a session, you have access to download your edited photos for free for one year. They are yours to do whatever you want with! I absolutely love being tagged and/or credited of course, but it's not a requirement.
All photos you receive will be edited with appropriate lighting, color, contrast, etc. You will not be allowed to have the unedited, RAW photos. This is a standard amongst nearly all photographers as we often have to adjust our camera settings to get optimal shots to include detail, which is almost never 'ideal' for a final image. Because it is still my art, you will not receive unedited photos.

Once your gallery is done, you will receive a personalized link via your e-mail on file that takes you to your gallery. You can download all of your photos here!

Your photos will remain on my site for one year. I pay for space to keep them available that long for you, but please make sure you back up your photos before the year expires!
